We will send it to our laboratories for analysis usually received within 10 to 14  days. The cost of this service is £200 per swab and analysis results will only be emailed to you. Post to Building Forensics PO Box 487 Beckenham BR3 9EY with cheque or preferably pay by Pay pal on our site. 2. Leak & condensation inspection

This survey specifically looks at moisture problems and costs £95 per hour with a minimum of 5 hours charged for. This would usually be a total cost of £500 in or around the London area. Travel costs are charged at the same rate £95 per hour.

  3. Building defect analysis

This inspection may require sophisticated equipment and our charge of £125 per hour with travel at £95 per hour, includes the use of our equipment which includes:

    • Full range of moisture detection meters
    • Infra red camera
    • Calcium carbide meters and humidity sleeves
    • Minesota blower doors for negative pressure
    • Infra red gas chromatography (Foxboro Miran) and trace gas SF6
    • Particulate analysis GRIMM particle analyser 2.5 to 10 micron

  4. Mould sampling

    Non Viable
A measured amount of air is drawn through a filter cassette and this is sent to our laboratory for PCR analysis and spore counts ( fragments per cubic meter of air) These are compared against the outside levels which should be taken at the same time.
    See typical report Mould analysis

    Culturable
A measured amount of air is drawn over a culture agar dish and airborne live or viable spores are embedded on the agar growth media. Colony forming units are counted over a 3-4 day period and these can be very specific to mould genus (species and possible health hazards and risks.

Site visit minimum of 4 hours at £95 per hour plus following costs:

    1. Non viable sampling with analysis and report £65 each minimum of two normally required for inside and outside comparison purposes turnaround about 5 days
    2. Culturable SAS or Anderson sampling onto culture dish with a standard MEA agar turnaround about 8 days cost per culture dish used £200 each

  5. Air sampling

A small glass tube filled with activated charcoal is placed in a air pump. 42 liters of air are drawn through the glass tube over 3.5 hours. The tube is sealed and sent to our US laboratory where 400 different compounds are analysed by Infra red gas chromatography. The sample can be expected to accommodate up to 2000 square feet of floor space.

Travel time plus minimum 4 hours on site to collect air sampling through purpose made 42 litre per hour pump over 3.5 hours al at £95 per hour.
Samples sent to US lab by Fed X for next working day delivery £60
    Laboratory analysis per tube is:

    • Standard rate 12 working days £600 each
    • 72 hours £900 each
    • 48 hours 1200 each

General site inspection and report £95 per hour on site plus travel and report writing.
